Preparing for Sound Design

AAF - Avid Media Composer

From the File menu, select "Output -> Export to File..."

Once the "Export Settings" dialog is shown,

for the "export method" - select "Consolidate Media" and enter an amount of 300 frames for the Handle Length.

this will allow the audio editor to use audio content that was not included in you time-line.

Please follow the image on the right for all other configurations.

When transferring your project to a sound designer you should supply him with a video preview (QuickTime file)

and audio files (AFF file).

For your convenience and time saving, here are the required settings and configurations of files that should be used while exporting from your editing system.

for the "Render" - select "Trim Audio Files" and enter an amount of 300 frames for the Handle Length.

this will allow the audio editor to use audio content that was not included in you time-line.
